How will my shipment be delivered?
Standard shipments are delivered via common contracted carriers with Craters & Freighters. Residential shipments require a 4-hour window to assure someone is available to sign for the shipment. Once your shipment reaches the closest delivery terminal you will be contacted to set-up delivery date and time. Special delivery arrangements can be made, although most will require additional charges.
What does delivery to liftgate mean?
Typical deliveries are to the tailgate of a tractor-trailer or box truck. If the item is heavy the vehicle may be equipped with a liftgate. The liftgate can lower the item to the curbside. It is your responsibility to bring the item into your home or office, unless inside delivery is part of the service agreement and signed freight bill.

Do you import from other countries besides the US?
Yes, please call our office or submit an online quote request.
How do I open this crate that arrived at my house?
Most crates can be easily opened with an electric or cordless drill with a Phillips head attachment. Some heavier shipments are banded, so some type of band cutter may be required. If you have special requirements don’t hesitate to ask.
How to I dispose of this crate that was delivered to my house?
Please check with your town because some will collect the crate from the curbside. If this is a problem then we suggest you request an inside delivery by the office that serves your area. Our offices are equipped to unpack, deliver inside and remove all the packaging materials.
Please recycle if possible. DO NOT attempt to use crates as firewood – plywood produces harmful fumes when burned!
I have a damage claim, what do I do now?
In the event of a damage claim, it is important that you keep all packaging and crating materials. Please take photos of the packaging materials, shipping container and of the damages to your item(s). Additionally, please contact the Craters & Freighters location where your items originated from.
Do you insure my packed goods?
Craters & Freighters does not insure customer packed goods. Please contact your nearest Craters & Freighters for more information regarding our packaging services if your items require insurance.
I have an international shipment, are the customs, duties and taxes included in the price quoted?
